DARK SKIES Series

Logline

From Iranian filmmaker Shahrokh Nael, based in the UK, comes a stark Norwegian short: a lone woman’s lament drifts across a wasteland of war and ruin, ending on the haunting image of a child abandoned in the wreckage of humanity’s collapse.

Synopsis

I Overmorge - The Day After Tomorrow is a 1 minute 32 second Norwegian short film with English subtitles, created by Iranian filmmaker Rock in collaboration with a Norwegian actress. The film unfolds as a poetic requiem for humanity’s downfall. A solitary woman wanders through a barren landscape, her voice narrating a mournful reflection on the collapse of civilisation. Her words overlay stark imagery of scorched earth, bombed-out cities, and war-ravaged ruins. The film closes on a devastating final image: a little girl clutching her teddy bear in the middle of a destroyed road, framed by burning buildings behind her. Stripped of sentimentality, I Overmorge is a transnational cry of grief—an unflinching meditation on the fragility of human civilisation and the cost of our own self-destruction.
