Logline
A detective and a psychologist travel from Manchester to Oslo to interrogate a suspect in a high-profile disappearance, but the case descends into a surreal nightmare when the suspect sees the doctor shifting forms finally as a haunting clown before she mysteriously vanishes.
Synopsis
The film opens with a newspaper headline: Dr. Anne Dawson, a psychologist from Manchester, has gone missing in Oslo following an intense interrogation. A series of visuals follows, showing Detectives are searching the landscape for her, building tension through fragmented, haunting imagery. Intercut with these sequences are glimpses of the interrogation itself, where the doctor and detective confront a suspect, culminating in surreal, unsettling visions—Dawson appearing to shift form and ultimately taking the shape of a haunting clown.
The film concludes with fragmented, ambiguous visuals, ending on police tape and two detectives standing over a body on the floor, leaving it uncertain whether it is Dr. Dawson, the original missing people, or someone else entirely. Through its fractured structure, Woken fuses psychological thriller with surreal horror, immersing viewers in a disorienting meditation on perception, identity, and the instability of reality.
